Imagine being dragged into a kill shelter on a chain, petrified, trembling, barely able to stand from untreated arthritis, and with your mouth duct taped shut. That’s how poor Clifford‘s “former owner” surrendered him. As soon as we heard Clifford‘s story, we knew he needed our help.
At about 8 years old, it is abundantly clear that Clifford never knew kindness before he was brought into that shelter. This poor boy was heartworm positive and has horrible hip dysplasia and arthritis. Clifford has finished his heartworm treatment, and we are managing his pain while working to strengthen his back legs.
Between all of the diagnostics he has needed (chest x-rays, hip x-rays, and several rounds of bloodwork and urine), his heartworm treatment, and treatment for his allergies, skin issues, and ear problems, Clifford‘s total in care is already well over $4,000.
