McCallen and McKynlee started showing signs of Megesophogus (where the esophogus doesn’t properly carry food to the stomach) in the foster home where they were born as early as 3 weeks old when they were regurgitating formula from their bottle feedings. No one thought they would survive! Along with providing specially compounded medication, their very devoted foster family had to feed them upright and hold them in an upright position for an hour after each meal (which at the beginning was 6-8 times a day) for 8 weeks and gave them special medication. Lo and behold…it worked…they are now almost 6 months old, fat and thriving and eating regular puppy food on their own!
