McKella, a female, 36 pound, 2 year old, mini-Shepherd mix is a real doll! Often called “Kella” or “Kella Bella” by her foster family, every minute spent with this darling is truly a joy! If you want a dog who really loves YOU, this is the gal for you! Her connection to those she knows is wonderful and pure; introductions to new people and new things need to be done gradually.
Goofy and playful, McKella has a blast playing with her toys and with the other dogs in her foster home and would love to find a home with a canine buddy to play with. McKella loves exploring in the yard, finding sticks to carry around, and rooting around in her toy box (she will sometimes even climb into it)! With her adorable happy prance, she dances around. There is nothing sweeter than being greeted by her happy dance, joyful wiggle and precious smile (yes, she really smiles!); she even seems to thoroughly listen when you speak to her.
McKella is deliciously cuddly and LOVES to curl up on the couch with her people and be near them. As soon as she knows someone is headed to the couch, she’s there immediately to join them. Her favorite spots are snuggled into a blanket with her humans and laying on the pillows with her head over her person’s shoulder. When you stop petting her, she does the gentlest tap with her paw to remind you to continue. She comes to her people and asks to be held, where she will quietly and happily sit on your lap. McKella is housetrained, knows basic commands, and sleeps through the night like an angel.
McKella has a very mild case of Megaesophogus, (where her esophagus can have some difficulty carrying food to the stomach). She does not currently need any special treatment for this and in the slim possibility that she should require medication in the future, the cost is only about $15-$20/month. This does not slow her down and she thoroughly enjoys life and holds her own in the pack quite well.
