Changing Lives … One Tail at a Time …

Thank You Lizzie, Charlotte, & Katherine!

A huge thank you to Lizzie, Charlotte, & Katherine for raising awareness, funds and supplies! They are 8th grade students in CT who focused their service project for school on ANCAR, and as part of it they set up a fundraising table at the Ridgefield Pet Valu. They are all dedicated dog lovers, and Lizzie and her family are fostering sweet Luka.

Thank You Joelle!

A HUGE thanks to Joelle Cohen for everything she does for ANCAR! She is a wonderful foster mom, a tireless volunteer and a funny and creative social media maven. Joelle just organized all the dogs and firefighters for the photo shoot for our 2019 “Hounds and Heroes” calendar! Here she is getting her favorite kind of thanks.

Thank you Adam Nack!

We’d like to extend a **HUGE** thank you to Adam Nack for collecting supplies for us at his Bar Mitzvah celebration!!  On top of this amazing display of generosity, Adam and his family are ANCAR adopters and, best of all, a wonderful foster family. Adam, we are so proud to have a young man of your character among the ranks of our junior volunteers!

Thank you Peter K.!

We’d like to extend a very special THANK YOU to Peter K. for raising $493.06 for A New Chance, by asking all of his family and friends to contribute to a fund in his honor instead of purchasing him birthday gifts this year!  Peter is also the proud owner of an ANCAR pup, Quincy, adopted in February!  Thank you so much Peter; with this donation, we are able to help partially pay for the surgery Quincy’s brother had to fix more…

Thank you Wipe Your Paws!

A very special thank you to Wipe Your Paws in Bedford Hills for giving Elsa a wonderful bath free of charge. Now we can all admire Elsa’s gorgeous golden brown/black coloring.

Thank you, Gernine!

Gernine Tuckner wears many hats at ANCAR. She is an amazing Board Member, a dynamic volunteer, a generous donor, and a nurturing foster mother. In 2015, Gernine has fostered over 20 dogs. She often takes puppies in together and works very hard to prepare them properly for their forever homes. Gernine is always welcoming and educating new volunteers and foster homes, and she makes a point to really teach each of her adopters about the responsibility of owning a dog more…

Thank You, NWH!

Thank You to Northern Westchester Hospital for including us in their gala benefit this year at Old Salem Farm! This year’s theme was Patient Centered Care and we were proud to represent the therapeutic and health benefits that dogs provide to humans. We met some amazing and caring animal lovers and our dog ambassadors, Reeses and Kingston, were on hand to give dog cuddles and kisses. Northern Westchester Hospital even baked us these jumbo dog biscuits to hand out to more…

Thank you Victoria & Kate!

We cannot thank Victoria Fenton (an ANCAR adopter) and Kate Mercer enough for asking for donations to A New Chance Animal Rescue in lieu of birthday gifts. They pooled their money and together raised $1,000! These girls are not only absolutely amazing, but so caring and generous. We are so lucky to have such special junior volunteers!!

Thank you, Greg!

We’d like to extend a huge thank you to Greg Small,an ANCAR junior volunteer and the 8th Grade Co-President of the Windward School, for suggesting that the Student Council donate the proceeds of their bake sale to A New Chance Animal Rescue! The $120.00 you raised is enough to help sponsor the vet care of one of our dogs.

Thank you, Jaden!

For her birthday, Jaden Pinski, 8 years old, asked that her gifts be given to A New Chance, instead of herself, to help support our work.  She raised $340.21!!  Way to go Jaden and thank you so much! Here she is with her adopted dog, Buddy, rescued by A New Chance.

Pilots N Paws

We’d like to thank Pilots N Paws pilots Dina and Mark B., Todd Workman, and Andrew Topp for flying Marcus and Marlee to NY from NC this past weekend. This is the first time we have worked with this wonderful organization. We can’t say enough about the dedication and excellent service that these volunteer pilots provide in transporting animals that are in need of a home to those who will rescue them. We are so grateful for their role in more…

Wipe Your Paws

A huge thank you to Wipe Your Paws from Rosie, Sade, Nebraska and Ozzie for making us look so beautiful in the last couple of weeks. None of us are small dogs, (and two of us are rather large), so we are so grateful for your gracious accommodation of our needs. We look fabulous, we feel great, and two of us even got adopted! Thank you so much for all you do for A New Chance dogs.

David Bruehl

David Bruehl makes a point of paying attention to our Website, Facebook page and Twitter, so that he always knows what we need. Whether we’ve just pulled some dogs to safety, or are transporting them to NY, or someone is ill, David is always there donating to help cover our costs. When there has been a group of new arrivals, he makes a point of stopping by with bags of food so that we can feed them. He always has more…

Ryan Matson

We’d like to thank the amazing Ryan Matson for asking for donations to A New Chance in lieu of birthday gifts for his twelfth birthday!! Ryan is teaching a new generation about the importance of rescue and all the needy dogs appreciate it. Happy Birthday! Pictured here, Ryan holds one of our new arrivals, a pup from Puerto Rico.
