The only way to describe Wallace is SWEET! Already 63 pounds at 11 months of age, this long and lanky Boxer/Hound puppy still has a bit of filling out to do and will probably end up closer to 70 pounds. Wallace is a sweet natured and affectionate boy with a gentle soul and a kind heart who forms strong connections with his humans. He loves people, and after an enthusiastic greeting he will lean against your legs while you pet him and even try to sit in your lap if given the chance. Wallace’s favorite things are hiking in the woods and splashing around in the stream, and he is always happy for any doggie company.
Don’t let those goofy good looks fool you – Wallace is smart and intuitive, with a strong desire to please his people. Lots of supportive praise and some tasty treats will make training this sensitive pup a breeze, and he will learn appropriate behaviors very quickly. Wallace is not destructive in the house, settles down easily and enjoys playing with his toys. He walks very nicely on a leash, and is learning to ignore the noisy cars that go by. Wallace is great in the car, and he’ll be happy to accompany you on any adventure. While he is still working on his potty skills, with a regular schedule and consistent training he should be accident-free before you know it. He loves children and would probably be best in a home with kids over the age of 8 who can understand and respect his size and energetic enthusiasm. A large yard with room for him to explore and stretch his long legs would be ideal, and he would fit perfectly in a family with an active lifestyle. Wallace is a very special dog, and he deserves a wonderful forever home – could it be yours?
