In the past, transporting our precious cargo from the South has meant a long 12-hour drive, expense, lots of volunteers, and most importantly, extra trauma and stress for our pups. Enter Pilots to the Rescue, a fantastic non-profit organization of volunteer pilots who help transport dogs at risk for being euthanized to rescue groups throughout the Northeast. They are 8th grade students in CT who focused their service project for school on ANCAR, and as part of it they set up a fundraising table at the Ridgefield Pet Valu. They are all dedicated dog lovers, and Lizzie and her family are fostering sweet Luka.
